CHS Cross Country beat Gow and lost to St. Francis in a Monsignor Martin Athletic Association league race.
The sun broke through clouds over Como Lake Park just before the Crusaders took the course and moved their record to 3-1 on the season. Canisius was victorious against Gow School with a 15-50 sweep. They fell to St. Francis by a score of 20-37 after a terrific effort. The race came down to the wire as 10 runners set personal records, seven of whom recorded sub-20-minute times.
The Crusaders were led by
Ethan Johnson '25 with a career PR of 18:45 and
Aidan Rivera '27 with a career PR time of 18:47.
Hector Gitego '25 (19:05) and
Jack Ganci '25 (career PR of 19:13) battled three Red Raiders into the finish.
Eli Faso '27 set a season PR at 19:53 and senior
Tommy Tran '25 set a career PR at 19:57.
Freshmen were once again led by
Jackson Polino '28 with a new PR time of 22:23. Other notable PR times were set by
Harry Gugino '26,
Matthew Cannon '27 and Felix Bloming '27 and
Jeffrey Ennis '28.
