Gabe Farley of CHS Wrestling won Most Outstanding Wrestler honors at Saturday's Dick Lang Memorial Tournament at Royalton-Hartland.
Â
Farley, a senior at Bishop Timon-St. Jude, went 6-0 at 190 pounds, including a victory over a state tournament qualifier from Roy-Hart. Farley is one of a few wrestlers from Timon who are wrestling with the CHS program this season.
Â
The inaugural Dick Lang Memorial Tournament is held in memory of the longtime Roy-Hart coach who revitalized the Rams wrestling program. The tournament field also included Tonawanda, CSAT, Alden, Lafayette and Lackawanna.
The Crusaders are in action next on Wednesday against the Buffalo Public Schools team.Â
The Monsignor Martin Athletic Association opener for Canisius is Wednesday, Dec. 18 at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute at 7 p.m. in Hogan Gymnasium. Canisius is 1-2 against St. Joe's in the last three seasons; the lone victory is
one of the biggest wins in recent program history, which ended a 14-match losing streak to St. Joe's.Â
