Tickets are on sale for the Canisius-St. Joe's basketball tripleheader on Saturday, Jan. 18 at Kennedy Field House.

Tickets can be purchased this week at Canisius High School's front reception desk between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Everyone will need a ticket to enter Saturday's game. Tickets cost $5. There will be no tickets available for purchase on the day of the game.

The 2 p.m. varsity game is not only the latest edition of the schools' storied rivalry, it is a matchup of Western New York's two best teams and a battle for first place in the Monsignor Martin Athletic Association.

St. Joe's (8-2, 4-0 MMAA) is ranked first in The Buffalo News large school poll and by The View from Centercourt website; Canisius (10-2, 4-0) is ranked second by both.

St. Joe's only losses are to state powers Long Island Lutheran and Albany Academy.

Canisius' only losses were to Loyola Blakefield of Baltimore and Belen Jesuit of Miami at the Blue Jay Classic at Jesuit High School in New Orleans.

Both teams have games prior to Saturday's showdown, both on Tuesday: Canisius at St. Francis and St. Joe's vs. Park.

Saturday's rivalry tripleheader begins with the freshman game at 11 a.m. followed by JV at 12:30 p.m.

Canisius students will be admitted with their school ID.
