The Crusaders Lacrosse team defeated Bishop Timon-St. Jude 12-10 last night to head into Sunday's MMHSAA Semifinal game vs St. Francis on a program record 10 game win streak.
The Crusaders had multiple milestones this season, including defeating St. Joe's for the first time since 2016, sweeping Nichols whom the Crusaders had not defeated in over two seasons, and
Nicholas Mete '28 of Ridgeway, ON recorded a program record 49 assists on the season.Â
Mete led the MMHSAA in Assists with 49, and Points with 87. Mete was also second in the MMHSAA in Goals with 38.Â
Wyatt Van Tine '28 of Hamburg and
Braxton Kilgour '26 of Niagara Falls were also near the top in multiple league categories.Â
Van Tine was fourth in Goals with 35, second in Assists with 30, and third in Points with 65.Â
Kilgour was third in Goals with 37, fourth in Assists with 19, and fourth in Points with 56.Â
The Crusaders finished the season tied for first place in the MMHSAA at a 7-1 league record, with an overall record of 13-4.Â
The Crusaders face St. Francis in the MMHSAA Semifinals at Demske Sports Complex on Sunday, May 17 at 6 p.m.Â
