Four. Hundred. Wins.

What a victory for CHS Basketball and coach
Kyle Husband '96 at Saturday's prestigious Centercourt Classic at St. Joe's: The Crusaders dug out of a double-digit hole in the first quarter and went on to beat perennial Western New York power Niagara Falls, 52-44, for the 400th victory of Husband's career.
Â
Husband, who is 400-118 in his 20th season leading his alma mater, achieved the feat on his 46th birthday.
Â
"I'm just fortunate to be able to do it at Canisius for that many years, to have so many great student-athletes and basketball players to play under me," Husband told Tom Prince during WNY Athletics' postgame interview. Â
Â
Asked what he would like to say to those who played for him, Husband said:
Â
"Thank you … for allowing me to do it for that amount of time, being such great basketball players and student-athletes and really just wanting to be part of something bigger than me, or them. Canisius basketball has grown into something pretty big the last 20 years. I'm just proud of that and just love to say thank you."
Â
No. 1 large school Canisius was down 12 after the first but then outscored the Wolverines 28-6 over the middle quarters to take control. Nick Purdie '25 had 14 points, Patrick Benzer '24 had 12 and
Alex Hayes '24 scored eight.
Â

The Crusaders (15-2), winners of 10 straight, are home to face St. Francis on Tuesday evening.Â
