CHS Cross Country posted some strong performances against many of the top Western New York teams at the 2024 East Aurora Invitational.
The Crusaders finished the 3-mile course 12th out of 18 schools, besting teams from Kenmore West, Williamsville East and Niagara Falls, among others. CHS was led by
Ethan Johnson '25 (17:52) finishing 38th and
Hector Gitego '25 (18:10) finishing 50th. Aiden Rivera '27 (18:13) finished 53rd in the field of 155.Â
The JV team placed fourth out of 12 teams, finishing ahead of competition from schools such as St. Francis, Eden and Orchard Park. They were led by
Quinn Spurlock '27 (19:57), who finished 12th in the field of 130 runners. Rookie Felix Bloming '27 (21:39) finished 25th overall. Canisius' top freshman runner was
Jackson Polino '28 (22:34). All JV team members set a personal meet record on Saturday.Â
The Crusaders' next competition will be at one of the Northeast's major meets, the 59th annual McQuaid Invitational in Rochester this Saturday, Sept. 28.Â
