Eli Kimble '27 stumbled but did not fall on an outstanding touchdown run in the second quarter, and the same could be said for Canisius in a 24-17 victory at St. Joe's.
Â
The Crusaders trailed in the second quarter and after the third, but used businesslike execution on offense and stifling defense to own the fourth quarter and beat their rivals for the 10th straight time and 20th time in the last 21 meetings.

Thousands attended Saturday's 101st meeting of the teams at the Robert T. Scott, AFSC Athletic Complex in Kenmore.
Â
CHS, which took the lead in the series last season for the first time since 1986, has a 50-48-3 lead in the rivalry. The series began in 1921.Â
Â
Kimble scored three touchdowns, including a fourth-quarter run that put Canisius up 22-17 after St. Joe's (1-2) had finished the third with a 17-16 lead. Kimble also scored on a two-point conversion run to put CHS (2-2) up by seven. Â
Â
Next up for Canisius is its home opener at 2 p.m. Saturday against St. Francis on Koessler Field at the Stransky Athletic Complex.
