CHS Hockey entered this weekend with a 8-2-2 mark as it began the year with a huge bounceback win over St. Joe's as well as a win over Bishop Timon-St. Jude in South Buffalo.
The Crusaders started the new year with back-to-back rivalry games against St. Joe's.Â
Canisius rebounded from a subpar performance in a 5-3 loss to St. Joe's with a 4-0 shutout the next night at LECOM Harborcenter in downtown Buffalo.Â
Alex Tallides '25 starred in goal with 27 saves for the shutout while the Crusaders killed four power plays.
The Crusaders scored two first-period goals to take control, added a shorthanded goal in the second before adding one in the third.Â

Canisius followed that win with another impressive league victory, 2-1 over Bishop Timon-St. Jude at South Buffalo's Cazenovia Rink.Â
David Barczak '26 had a goal and an assist while
Liam Feeney '25 made 20 saves and had a 952 save percentage as Canisius came from behind for the win.Â
After Timon took a 1-0 lead after the first period, Canisius tied it at the 4:06 mark of the second as
Jacob Crane '25 was assisted by
Tyler Stofer '25 and
David Barczak '26.Â

Barczak then put Canisius up with a goal at 5:32 of the third on an assist by
Danny Ball '25.
Canisius added a 4-2 win over Kenmore East on Wednesday.Â
The Crusaders headed down the Thruway to the Capital District for two weekend games in Albany.
