2/6/2025 11:29:00 AM

CHS Bowling clinched the regular season Monsignor Martin Athletic Association titles in both the varsity and junior varsity divisions after another excellent collective performance on Tuesday.

The varsity Crusaders took control of their match versus St. Francis with key spares and great teamwork to clinch the program's third straight regular season title with a 2.5-0.5 win.

It marks the program's sixth straight league title over the last four seasons when regular season and postseason All-Catholic championships are included.

Canisius is 40.5-1.5 on the season.

This year's All-Catholic Championships are Saturday at Classic Lanes at 9 a.m.

Thomas Skowron '25 really set the tone with his first game of a 227 which was part of a 612 series. Skowron is now the CHS bowler who has been a part of the most championships; he also has a chance to become the winningest bowler in school history when the Crusaders meet St. Joe's on Thursday.

JV Blue and JV Gold finished in first and second place respectively after 4-0 sweeps over both O'Hara 1 and O'Hara 2.

JV Blue finished atop the JV with a 47-5 record, while the JV Gold finished with a 44-8 record.

This marks the second time the program held the top two spots and it is the fourth time in five years that Canisius has won the JV Division.

The team members of JV Blue are: James Anticola '26, Brett Sauer '27, Jack Eberl '27, Dean Gracie '27, Noah Trzaska '26 and Will Smith '25.

Crusaders of the Day were:

Varsity: Cole Skowron '27 with a high game 235 and 646 set; Carson Kwiatkowski '27 with a high game of 226 and a 614 series.

JV: Luca Ventura '25 led the way with a 209 game and a 571 high set.
