The Crusaders Swimming team has had a great start to the season.
CHS started the season by breaking several meet records at the Cathedral Prep Invitational on their way to a second-place finish among 10 teams.
Atticus Young '26 of Buffalo earned three victories, including helping the 200-yard medley relay to a win in meet record time (1:38.21). He also won the 200 individual medley and the 100 breaststroke. The relay also included
Gabe Russell-Webster '27 of Amherst – who took first in the 100 freestyle –
Andre Charlier '27 of Tonawanda (third in the 100 butterfly) and
Duke Neal '28 of Youngstown. The quartet also took second in the 400 free relay, just 0.4 seconds behind Cathedral Prep.
The Crusaders beat rival St. Joe's 69-25 in their first league match of the season.
Russell-Webster shattered the 100 butterfly school record with an outstanding 50.91 at the Viking Invitational in Cleveland, Ohio. This score broke the previous by over half a second. The Crusaders finished 10th out of 31 teams.
Next up, the Crusaders face off against St. Joe's and St. Francis Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Tonawanda High School.
