When CHS lacrosse begins its 2025 season next week it will do so under the direction of head coach
Pat Mete, an accomplished lacrosse leader with three decades of coaching experience at several levels.
Mete has been a youth coach in field and box lacrosse in Ontario and U.S. and has been a championship coach in Ontario high school and college lacrosse.
"We are extremely fortunate to have someone with as much experience as coach Mete has coaching our lacrosse program," CHS Director of Athletics Jim Mauro.
"He has a wealth of knowledge and has achieved a high level of success as both a player and as a coach."
Mete coached the St. Catharines U15 field team to an All Ontario A Championship in 2023, and has coached at Wilfrid Laurier University (winning a MacDonald Cup Championship) and Notre Dame College School (winning several Niagara Secondary School Championships).
Mete has also started youth leagues in Ontario and has been the owner and director of his own lacrosse organization, Renegades Lacrosse, since 2013. Players from Western New York, Rochester and Southern Ontario have honed their skills with Renegades Lacrosse.
Mete was also an outstanding player for Team Ontario Field Lacrosse and was team captain and two-time MVP for Ontario University.
