Basketball wins league opener at Nichols

Declan Ryan '22 of Clarence had 35 points and eight rebounds and displayed a balanced inside-outside game as Canisius opened its Monsignor Martin Athletic Association schedule with an impressive 85-76 victory Tuesday evening at Nichols.

Shane Cercone '23 was a force as well with 22 points and 19 rebounds as Canisius, which shares the top spot in this week's Buffalo News large school poll topped the Vikings, co-ranked No. 4 among small schools. 

Eddie Cosgrove '22 contributed 17 points and six rebounds while Luke Granto '23 had six rebounds and four assists.
