Cosgrove '22 earns MVP as coach Husband '96 claims record 10th title

"It's a dream come true … I'll remember it for the rest of my life."

Those were the words from Eddie Cosgrove '22 after he delivered an MVP performance as Canisius routed Bishop Timon-St. Jude, 72-40, for the Crusaders' 19th Manhattan Cup championship.

This is 10th Manhattan Cup title under head coach Kyle Husband '96. That gives him the most in Monsignor Martin Association history; he surpassed Timon all-time great Mel Palano.

Canisius advances to the New York State Catholic High School Athletic Assocation Class A semifinals at 11 a.m. Sunday at Hofstra University on Long Island. The Crusaders will face the winner of Wednesday night's Long Island playoff of Chaminade vs. Holy Trinity.

Point scorers Sunday:
Eddie Cosgrove 22
Shane Cercone 21
Declan Ryan 19
Luke Granto 3
Lucas Ingrando 3
Nate Leonard 2
Johnny Esposito 2
