The Crusaders capped their outstanding 2021-22 season in resounding fashion on Sunday as they routed Fordham Prep, 85-49, in the New York State Catholic High School Athletic Association Class A championship at Erie Community College's Flickinger Center in downtown Buffalo.
Shane Cercone '23 scored 29 points and
Declan Ryan '22 had 25 as the Crusaders finished the season 23-5 following a school-record 15 straight victories.
Eddie Cosgrove '22 added 10 points for Canisius, which 17-10 after one quarter and just extended its lead from there (41-22 at halftime and 67-39 after three) thanks to clincal offense and oppressive defense.
