On Saturday, CHS Federation Hockey defeated Monsignor Martin Athletic Association leader Bishop Timon-St. Jude, 4-3, in overtime to take the regular season series with the Tigers.
The Crusaders finished the regular season 2-0-1 against Timon.
Canisius improved their conference record to 5-2-2 and 13-3-3 overall.Â
Game Overview
The Tigers scored the lone goal in the first period to lead 1-0.
Mikey LaCivita '24 opened up the highest-scoring period of the game with an unassisted goal to tie the game at one.
The Tigers regained the lead shortly after with a power play goal to go up 2-1.
The Crusaders bounced back with two quick goals fromÂ
Jack Daigler '25 and
Jackson Deet '25Â to close out the second period with a 3-2 lead.
Late into the third period, the Tigers scored their third goal to tie things up.
For the second time this season, the Crusaders and the Tigers headed to overtime.
Austin McMullen '24 scored just over a minute into the overtime period to secure the 4-3 victory.
