On another big day for hockey in our city, here's a look at CHS Hockey's special visit last week with Mayor Sean Ryan at City Hall in honor of the team's state championship.
The players and coaches spent time with Mayor Ryan in his office and at lunch, with each team member receiving a key-to-the-city pin and a certificate "in recognition of winning the 2026 New York State Catholic Championship. Go Crusaders!"
Two-time state champion coach Sam Belsito, assistant Max Hyland '11 and the team also visited the Buffalo Common Council Chambers, the City Hall observation deck and more during a tour of the building.
See our photo gallery for individual photos of each player with Mayor Ryan.
CHS beat St. Joe's for the Monsignor Martin Athletic Association's Niagara Cup Championship and then routed Chaminade of Long Island for the championship of the New York State Catholic High Schools Athletic Association.
The Crusaders went undefeated in its final 10 regular season games before its memorable postseason.
