The Crusaders Hockey team defeated Bishop Timon-St. Jude in the winner-take-all Game 3 Saturday night by a score of 5-1 to move on to face St. Joe's in the MMHSAA Championship.
After losing the first game 3-1, the Crusaders defeated Timon 2-1 in Overtime of Game 2.
David Barczak '26 of Orchard Park had the game winning goal with an assist from
Carter Butcher '28 of North Tonawanda.
Butcher had 2 assists on the game,
James Bruce '27 of Williamsville scored the team's first goal.
The First Star of the game went to
Jakob Wiest '27 of Orchard Park. The Second Star was Barczak. The Third Star was Bruce.
The Crusaders dominated Game Three. Barczak finished the game with two goals and one assist.
Carter Bridge '27 of North Tonawanda,
Sean Whelehan '27 of North Tonawanda, and
Max Spencer '27 of Amherst each scored once. Butcher had three assists.
There were no starts given out for Game Three because it was a total team effort.
After letting up three goals in Game One, Wiest only let up a total of two in the last two games.
The Crusaders face off against St. Joe's Wednesday night in Game One of the Three Game Series at the LECOM Harborcenter at 7:00 p.m.
Game Two will be Saturday, February 28 at the LECOM Harborcenter at 2:00 p.m.
