3/31/2026 10:14:00 AM

Down 6-1 in the first quarter, down 7-4 at halftime … then came the Crusader comeback.

The Crusaders Lacrosse team rallied with a 6-2 second half that included great defense, thrilling goals off nice assists and a big save in the final seconds to win on the road at strong Section V (Rochester area) program Rush-Henrietta, 10-9, Monday evening.

The Crusaders scored five straight second-half goals to take a 9-7 lead with 9:41 to go, then outplayed Rush-Henrietta the rest of the way. Senior goalie Nick Dutrieux of Lewiston blocked the Royal Comets' last shot as the last seconds ticked away.

Game MVP was Nicholas Mete and the Head Huncho was Trent Yoder

The next game for the Crusaders (1-1) is Thursday at home as they welcome Upper Canada College of Ontario to Koessler Field at the Stransky Athletic Complex at 4:30 p.m.

The Crusaders then travel to North Carolina next week to face Southlake Christian Academy Thursday, April 9 at 6:00 p.m. and Charlotte Catholic on Friday, April 10. The time is to be determined.
