Arthur played three years of football starting on the varsity football team. He also played two years of varsity hockey. The culmination of his high school sports career however, was his three years as catcher on the varsity baseball team. In his senior year, Arthur was named Team Captain (All- Catholic — 1954). He went on to play two years of professional baseball in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees before becoming a salesman of 16 years and a NY State Trooper of 22 years.
