Emmett Creahan was a standout linebacker and guard for the Gridiron for the Gridiron Crusaders. A senior co-captain, Emmett was First Team All-Catholic and First Team All-Western New York for the undefeated Crusaders. Emmett's most memorable moment as a Crusader was walking off the field with John Barnes after his last game.
Emmett continued his excellence on the football field at Williams College, leading the Division III Ephs defense to the rank of sixth in the nation during his undefeated junior campaign. He averaged eight tackles a game. As a senior co-captain, he was ECAC Honorable Mention and also received the Edward J. Coughlin Jr. Bowl Award from Williams for making an outstanding contribution to the team despite adversity.
After earning his Bachelor of Arts in English from Williams and his masters of Public Administration from Canisius College, Emmett earned his law degree from Vermont :aw School in 1981. In 2004, when he served as Director of the Mental Hygiene Legal Services, Appellate Division, Fourth Department, New York Unified Courts, that department receivef a Community Service Award from the University at Buffalo School of Social Work Alumni Association.Â
