The first member of an outstanding family of Canisius athletes and one of Coach Johnny Barnes' favorites, Bucky lettered for three years in football and basketball and team captain in the latter sport and All-Catholic in his senior year. 

Bucky earned a basketball scholarship to Niagara University but his college career was cut short by World War II. He served 33 months in the European theatre as a paratrooper.

Bucky had a long career as a master mechanic with General Motors.
