Hall of Fame
Jim was the youngest member of a family known locally and nationally for its athletic accomplishments. He was a member of the 1953 Crusader basketball team that won the Manhattan Cup under the coaching of brother Bob. A backcourt floor general, he earned All-Catholic honors in his junior and senior years. An outstanding infielder and team captain, Jim was selected  as a member of the All-Catholic Baseball Team.
Jim earned a degree in business administration from Canisius College where he starred on the basketball court and on the baseball diamond.Â
Jim enlisted and served in the United States Army Reserve from 1960-1967. He served in the 1st Reconnaissance Squadron, 6th Armored Cavalry as 2ND LT - 1203 - Tank Unit Commander and voluntarily served six months of active duty.Â
For 40 plus years, jim juggled two highly successful careers. A salesman and general manager for New York Life Insurance and coach at Diocesan Prep, Cardinal O'Hara, DeSales High School and eventual athletic director at Starpoint Central School.Â
