After a promising High School Basketball Career and four years of service in the U.S. Marine Corps., Michael's athletic career flourished at Buffalo State College. He was All-Catholic Basketball, All League S.U.N.Y. Confrence Basketball, and a member of Who's Who in American Universities and Colleges. He has been inducted into the Buffalo State Athletic Hall of Fame for 11 letters in Basketball, Baseball, and Soccer. He has participated in multiple marathons and tri-athalons, and coached little league baseball for many years after his collegiate career.
