One of Canisius' most versatile performers on the athletic field and as an exceptional scholar in the classroom. . .Sam captained Crusader teams in three sports, attaining All-Catholic honors as a first baseman in baseball and as a quarterback in football. . .awarded the "Mr. Mack" award for his out-standing contributions to the Crusader basketball team...honored by his fellow seniors as "Mister Canisius" and voted Scholar/Athlete of the year.

Graduated from Canisius College where he captained the varsity baseball team for two years. . .After graduating, Sam started working at the Mutual Insurance Group where he would became an Assistant Vice President and Chief Actuary.
