Paul Szwicz was a three-year member of the Varsity Football Team under Coach Johnny Barnes and threw shot put for the Varsity track team for two years. His junior year he helped Canisius end rival St. Joe's 20 game unbeaten streak in football. The victory secured the Monsignor Martin League Championship for the Crusaders. In the spring of his junior year Paul helped Canisius win the All-catholic Track meet. He received numerous post season honors for football following his senior campaign. He was voted All-Catholic and All-WNY and was named Limestone Club Amateur Athlete of the Year. Following Canisius Paul played four years of football at Notre Dame where he was a Monogram Club inductee.

Paul worked for the Hamburg Central School District for 38 years, retiring in July of 2012. He cached High School football for 19 years and was the recipient of the Town of Hamburg Service to Youth Award. Paul has degrees in History from Notre Dame and Multidisciplinary Studies from Buffalo State College.
