Having an accomplished high school career, Jay was one of the founders of the volleyball program and was an accomplished member of thr track team. During his three years as Captain on the Volleyball team, Jay was named two-time MVP, two-time All-Catholic, and led his team, earning two varsity letters and became a one-time Field Events MVP. After earning an athletic scholarship to the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Jay became a four-time recipient of a scholar athlete award.
