Tom Keenan was the leader of the 1996 Manhattan Cup Basketball Championship team that started three years of Crusader dominance in the Monsignor Martin League Having been beaten twice in the regular season the Crusaders pulled off the 56-54 upset over heavily favored St. Joe's to bring home the Crusader's first championship in a decade. Tom was named the championship's MVP after hitting the game tying 2-pointer with less than a minute to go. Tom earned numerous individual honors during his playing career including, 1st Team All-Catholic in 1995 & 1996, 3rd Team All-WNY in 1996, and 3rd Team All-Star in 1996. Tom was named the CHS Basketball Team MVP in 1995 & 1996 and at graduation was named the Senior Athlete of the Year.

Tom was a three year starter for Nazareth College after graduating from CHS. He led the Golden Flyers in scoring during both the 1999 & 2000 seasons. Tom earned All Empire 8 Conference in 1999 and Team MVP honors in 2000.
