Brendan Curley was a defensive stalwart in soccer and a formidable goals scorer in hockey. As a senior he earned 1st Team All-Catholic in Soccer and 1st Team All-Catholic in Hockey. His senior year Brendan served as Captain of the varsity hockey team leading them to the Monsignor Martin Championship. Brendan was the 1989 league scoring champion and scored 15 points in four playoff games including victories over St. Joes in the semi-finals and St. Francis in the finals at Memorial Auditorium.
After Canisius, Brendan attended Miami University at Ohio graduating in 1993 with a BA in English Journalism. Brendan was a walk-on four year letterman for the RedHawks hockey program and in 1993 helped the team to its best record, the #8 rank in the country, its 1st ever CCHA Championship and a NCAA tournament berth. In two seasons playing for the ECHLÂ Hampton Roads Admirals (Washington Capitals AA affiliate) Brendan scored 121 points and accumulated 156 penalty minutes.Â
