Hall of Fame
John Christ's fondest memories of his time at Canisius include the Georgetown Cup Championship he won at what was then Pilot Field and the championships that he won in Golf and Hockey. John's teams' success was greatly aided by his outstanding individual achievements. In baseball he was All-WNY Player of the Year. That honor was accompanied by his 1st Team All-Conference in the elite Varsity Federation League, and he was the Super Seven Athlete of the Week.
After Canisius, John received numerous athletic and academic honors at John Hopkins, highlighted by the Gardner Mallonee Award for his Outstanding Contribution to Athletics. He was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in 1999. John is very appreciative of the foundation provided by hus Jesuit education. He is married to Kelly Christ and had two older brothers, William and Mike, also attended Canisius.Â
