Hall of Fame
Darren has a crystal clear memory of an electrifying night when a packed gym watched the CHS basketball team beat rival St. Joe's and a thousand students rushed the floor. There is much that is memorable about Darren's days as a Crusader. In 96-97, he was named MVP for both volleyball and basketball. He was named to the 1st team All-Catholic for both sports and 1st team All-WNYÂ for basketball. In 96-97. Western New York named him Player of the Year in basketball, and Canisius voted him Athlete of the Year.
After achieving honors, both academic and athletic (e.g. 8th all time in scoring and 2nd all time in rebounding and being named to the All Century Team) at Canisius College, Darren realized the athlete's dream and became a professional basketball player. For 13 seasons in Europe, he  played for France, Belgium, Bosnia, Russia, Germany and Romania. He also played a season in Japan.  Notable among many honors, he was named German Bundesliga Player of the year in 2006 and Center of the Year in 2007.Â
Darren was also inducted in the Canisius College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012.Â
