Father Jack was a member of the first Canisius Crew at the West Side Rowing Club, a unique distinction in itself. . .he was a fullback on the Crusader football team that defeated St. Joe's in Civic Stadium after a seventeen year hiatus in the rivalry. . .Jack's All-Catholic recognition on the gridiron was matched by his academic achievements and selection as class salutatorian.

Played football as a freshman at his Alma Mater, Holy Cross College. . .subsequently a graduate of Christ the King Seminary at Saint Bonaventure.

Jack was a well-known priest in the Diocese of Buffalo for over forty years. . .with Masters degrees in Theology, Counseling and English he was a teacher and counselor at Buffalo State College for four decades.
