Hall of Fame
A Canisius High School Graduate of 1935, Fr. Strum was captain of the Baseball team after playing for four years. He also played Varsity Track for four years, Varsity Tennis for one year, and Varsity football for two years. He won awards in athletics including a gold medal for speed skating.
After high school, he left to study at Canisius College and later and later in 1937 transferred into the Society of Jesus at St. Andrew in Poughkeepsie, Ny. After numerous years of private study and teaching, Fr. Sturm was ordained a priest in 1950 at Woodstock College. He spent 18 years as a Prefect of Discipline at Canisius High School as well as moderator of the Crew and Golf Team. In 1971, Fr. Strum helped create Marriage Encounter, a successthat would spread all over the world. He has written two books named "Life's A Dance, Not A Dress Rehearsal" and "You're Hot Wired to God".
