Chris Bonn was one of the most well rounded athletes of the class of 1973. He was a member of the undefeated Tennis team, rowed with the Crew team and ran with Jim Sipper's Cross Country team. Chris offered his greatest contribution to CHS athletics on the ice. In 1973 the hockey program was resurrected at Canisius by Coach Jeff Gemmer and Chris was a standout in that inaugural year. Chris was described by one classmate as, "Mr. Hockey" for Canisius, "the face of the program".

After Canisius, Chris went on to have a successful college career at the University of Buffalo. In 1978, Chris captained the Division II Bulls to the ECAC playoffs. Chris earned a Business degree from. Chris's son Matthew graduated from Canisius High School in 2009.
