Brian Hennessy was a two sport star for the Crusaders of the early 1990s. Brian was a member of the 1992 Georgetown Cup champion team in baseball and scored over 1,000 points in his varsity basketball career. Brian was a fixture on the All-Catholic and All-Western New York teams in baseball and basketball.

After Canisius High School,Brian earned a bachelor of Arts in Political Science and had a tremendous career playing baseball at Canisius College. As a Freshman, he was Second Team All-MAAC Conference and was First Team Division 1 Freshman All-American. He was First Team All-MAAC Conference in his three remaining years for the Griffins.
