Hall of Fame
Don Salva was a dynamic athlete during the golden age of Crusader sports. As a senior co-captain, his hard-nosed play at fullback pushed the Crusaders to an unbeaten record of 6-0-1 tying Timon as league champions. Don averaged a touchdown per game his senior year and received All-Catholic Honors for his efforts. Don never tasted defeat in his two years playing football for Coach Johnny Barnes. Don's true athleticism was best on display in the water. A four year letterman for Canisius Mermen, Don was invited twice to prestigious Eastern States Invitational Meet winning both Gold and Silver medals. A natural leader, Don served as President of Student Council his senior year and was named Most Popular in the Arena poll.Â
After Canisius, Don enjoyed a career in Medicine.
