OFFICIAL SITE OF CANISIUS CRUSADERS ATHLETICS

The 1980 Varsity Soccer Team, in only its second year of existence, completed the regular season undefeated in the Catholic league. The aggressive defense was led by the consistent play of David Manga, Brian Kane, Kurt Dahm, Kevin Weber, Bill Bona and anchored in goal by Tom Santora. The offense was sparked by captain, team and league M.V.P., and 1st team All-State Tim Kane, who was outstanding at moving the ball. Additional attack support was provided by Bill Lawley, Dick Ruh, Dennis Kimball and Phil Rados. The team secured their place in CHS history with a 1-0 victory over the previous year's champion, Timon Tigers. dick Ruh scored the championship winner late in the game and the defense held on to ensure victory.
